Pause before you act! One of the HeartMath® tools my clients find most useful— in personal and business choices—is the Freeze Frame® Technique.  Use it before engaging in an action which could drain your energy or lead to a poor choice. You will be more effective in a conversation, a meeting or a stress-possible situation. Step 1: Acknowledge the problem or issue and any attitudes or feelings about it. Step 2: Focus your attention in the area of your heart. Imagine your breath is flowing in and out of your heart or chest area, breathing a little slower and deeper than usual. As a HeartMath® Trainer, Counselor, SIT™ Practitioner, Coach, Grief Counselor and author, I am often asked what I find most useful in the day-to-day navigation of life. What I learned over the years was often taught unconsciously through being a daughter, a spouse, a mother, a professional woman and someone active in my community. Without a map, I seemed to navigate through the heart. I never, ever, believed in the superiority of the brain, though throughout my life I have continued my education and my search for knowledge. The Intelligence of Our Body Energy This morning I am feeling impatient and agitated, wondering what is going on in my emotional body to create these feelings. For a while, I leave my computer where I’m trying to work on my latest book, and sit in silence. Since I am a HeartMath® Trainer, the first tool I go to is my heart, asking the question: “What is the source of this aggravating buzzing energy?” I reflect on my day so far, and nothing reveals itself. I look back to last night and realize I didn’t sleep well. I tossed and turned and found it difficult to concentrate on my usual meditation. So, what did I do before bed? In with Breath, Out with Stress

I’m excited to have you here. My goal is to present you with useful and loving information to inform and improve your daily living, and to respond to your questions and feedback. In this blog, I’ll focus on HeartMath®, and later I’ll include my other trainings. Several years ago, I added the title of Licensed HeartMath Provider to the modalities I use with clients. The excitement of being trained in a science-based modality that uses the heart-brain and its connection to the head-brain as the source of wisdom fit in so beautifully with what I have always believed to be true.
